STUD SERVICES

 

Together with Alpaca Stud Farm in Belgium we are Co-Owner of Silverstream Flashdance and Silverstream Ensenada.  We offer the possibility to have your females mated by one of those excellent stud males.  Both of them are stationed regularly in our farm.

 

After making an appointment you can bring your female alpaca either to Alpacafarm Carpe Diem in Holland or Alpaca Stud Farm in Belgium. After mating your female alpaca will as soon as possible have a blood test to check if she is pregnant. If the bloodtest is positive you can take your alpaca home. After about 3 months you can have her checked by scan to be sure about the pregnancy. If the bloodtest is negative, we will start over again with mating.

 

For health reasons we ask you to provide a Declaration of Health from your veterinarian. The alpacas should have been vaccinated against clostridium and worms. A good chance for succesful mating is after they have been sheared.

 

Before you collect your female alpaca you should have paid for the studfee. This is part of  the Mating Contract.
